2011 AD to 2020 AD 

 

 

2011 AD to 2917 AD:Lord's Resistance Army Insurgency in Uganda with the US, Uganda, DR Congo, Central Africa Republic, and South Sudan against Lord's Resistance Army resulting in a partial victory. LRA members shrink to about 100 members down from but 3,000; Surrender of senior leaders like dominic Ongwen to US troops; the US ends the hunt for LRA leader Joseph Kony, believing that he and the LRA no longer posed a significant security risk to Uganda.

2012 AD, December 23rd: Marked an end to the Mayan Calendar.

2014 AD to 2017 AD Iraqi Civil War.

~ Return of US forces to Iraq to control ISIL. American Intervention in Iraq as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the Iraq Civil War, the Spillover of the Syrian Civil War, and the international ISIS campaign in Iraq. It was the US, Iraq, Kurdistan, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Jordan, Morocco, Netherlands, Turkey againsts the Islamic States of Iraq and Syria, resulting in ''victory.'' The details, as in most killing, are fairly unpleasant, beginning with over 10,000 American airstrikes conducted in Iraq. I wonder how many bombs that was. This is 2023 and Syria and Iraq are far from recovery.

~ Solar cycle 24-25. A fairly regular set of various solar activities significantly affecting our life on Earth!!

~ 2014 and onward: American - led Intervention in Syria. Part od Operation Inherent Resolve, the Syrian Civil War and the International ISIS campaign. The US forces, some Syrian forces, CJTF-OIR forces, mostly Western Europeans fought against ISIS, al-Qaeda. Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Russia, Lebanon, Bahrain, Turkey, Hezbollah, china and Iran had some involvement. Chemical weapons were used. A very nasty disorganization of Syria. We seemed to have been practicing for WWIII.

2015 AD and onward: Yemeni Civil War in Yemen. This does not mean the war is civil. In it the Hadi government fought a Saudi-led Coalition supported by the US, France, and the UK against the Supreme Political Council of Yemen including Houthis and Ahrar al-Najran Supported by Iran, Hezbollah, and North Korea and other more local forces. This resulted much killing and death including a Cholera outbreak in 2016. Seems much of this was already beginning before 2002. This put Iran and the US in a face to face confrontation which both tried to moderate.

2016 AD: US in Middle East: US Military observed their HIMARS strike that destroyed a building near Hadtha in September of this year.

2003 AD: US war on terror in Afghanistan,  and in Iran.

2004 AD: US war on terror in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Pakistan, and Yemen.

~ to present: US wars in North-West Pakistan. Major use of drones. This was Pakistan against Pakistan, al]qaeda,Laskar-e-Jhangvi, Turkistan Islamic Party, Tehreek-e-Shar Mohammadi.

2005 Ad: "War on terror" in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen. 

2006 AD, Ethiopia: US backed invasion.

2007 AD to present: US war in Somalia fought in Somalia and Northeastern Kenya. US is aided by Somalia, United Kingdom, Kenya, Ethiopia, and AMISM. Against Al-Shabaab, Hizbul Islam, perhaps supported by Darsh and Eritrea.

~ War on persons in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Yemen.

2008 AD: War on persons in afghanistan, Iraq, and Yemen. Trying to kill suspected ''terrorists.

2009 AD to 2016 AD: Operation  Ocean Shield in the Indian Ocean. NATO, US. Malaysia, Norway, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy, South Korea, and India VS Somali pirates. The results included victory for NATO allies, attacks have decreased, but attacks still occur near the coast waters of Oman, Yemen, Kenya, and Somalia. The office of Naval Intelligence has officially reported that in 2013 only nine incidence of piracy were reported and that none of them were successful. Piracy dropped 90%.

~ to 2016 and beyond: US war on "Terror" in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and Yemen.

2011 AD: Withdrawal of U. S. forces from Iraq.

~ American-led Intervention in Libya as part of the Libyan Crisis in Libya. In the conflict NATO, US, UK, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, France and Greece faced Libya. Results included victory by NATO and allies, Overthrow of Gaddafi government and death of Muammar Gaddafi; Assumption of interim control by the National Transitional Council, NTC; Diplomatic recognition of NTC as sole governing authority for Liby by105 countries, UN, EU, AI,and AU.Post-civil war violence in Libya, leading to the ongoing war in 2014.

~ Ireland: Peace  declaration and IRA ceasefire.

1995 AD, US wars: Conflict in Iraq. US invades Haiti. NATO bombing of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

1996 AD, US war: Conflict in Iraq.

1997 AD, North America: Joe Sanders and an interdisciplinary group of scientists published important findings about Watson Break archaeological site in Science. They presented solid evidence that Middle Archaic hunter-gatherers constructed monumental earthworks at Watson Break. Science

~ 1998 AD, US: Bombing of Iraq. Missile strikes against Afghanistan and Sudan.

1998 AD to 1999 AD, US: Kosovo war. Part of the Yugoslav Wars located in Serbia. It was fought by KLA,AFRK. Albana, Croatia, United States, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Poland, spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom against FR Yugoslavia!!! and included the bombing of Novi Sad. It resulted, among other things in victory of the allies: Yugoslavia forces pull out of Kosovo, de facto separation of Kosovo from FR Yugoslavia under UN administration, return of Albanian refugees, KLa veterans join the UCPMB, starting the Presevo insurgency, Russia uses Kosovo as pretext for Crimea, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia interventions. The joys of modern killing.

~ Operation of infinite Reach in Sudan and Afghanistan with unpleasant ongoing results. It was fought by the US against al-Qaeda, sudan, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen Lashkar-e-Taiba. Results were mixed. Strikes hit targets but failed objectives; al-Qaeda suffers damage and casualties, however its senior leaders survive the strikes; Al shifa pharmaceutical plant destroyed.The benefits of years of making war.

~ US: Joe DiMaggio played ball and then died at 84.

~ US: Crime rate falls for the 7th consecutive year.

~ US Bombing of Iraq. US missile strikes against Afghanistan and Sudan.

1999 AD: US Kosovo war.

1999 AD, US: Joe DiMaggio, famous baseball player, died at 84 years of age.

2,000 AD, Anthropocene: was coined by Paul Crutzen and Eugene Stoermer as a name for our current epoch and now it is being used as a term of man's presence on Earth. A bit awkward because we do not know how long we have been here. But, it looks like it will be around for awhile.

2001 AD: "U.S. war on terror in Afghanistan." How can anyone war with terror? How can terror defend itself? War is made on people by people.

~  This is a marker date for the regular cycle of solar activities which repeat in approximately each 22 years.

1957 AD to 1975 AD: The Vietnam War was won by North Vietnam against South Vietnam and the United States.

~ Asian flu led to 50,000 US dead. The Asian flu of the time touched me personally. But I scarcely noted the Hong Kong flu and the Swine flu.

~ About this time I was called to active duty in the U.S. Navy. I asked for a deferment so as not to leave my family too disrupted. I got only six months. I spent about 3 years on active duty and had money sent home to help my family which was minus my father. The amount of money I was able to have sent home was very little.

~ Michigan, USA: The Mackinac bridge opened to link the upper and lower peninsula.

~ Russia: Russians launched Sputnik I, the first satellite in space.

~ USA: Asian flue broke out and about 50,000 Americans died of it. I contacted in Naval Boot Camp.

~ to 1964, USA: I served in the United States Navy. Might have finished my service in 1963 after serving three years.

1958 AD: The yearly wage in the US in this year was $5,100 by 2020 the yearly wage was $34,250. What can this tell us about inflation? The weekly wage this 1958 year was $71. By 2020 the usual weekly wage was $860. What does this tell us about the value of the dollar?

1960 AD to 1963 AD:  Canadians experienced what has been called a Quiet Revolution during these years.

~ February to August, USA: I work as a set-up man and drillpress operator at Autonetics as I attend a Junior College.

~ Earth: With a polar precession of  minus 23.500 degrees.

~ to 1961, USA: I worked various odd jobs while studying at the University of California at Berkeley.

~  to 1963, USA; John Fitzgerald Kennedy elected president and was assassinated in 1963.

~ to 1962 AD: Honduras: I taught English, drove for a timber buyer, after leaving Mosquitia. 

~ USA : I was a brakeman for Southern Pacific Railroad out Oakland and San Francisco Bay area, California. I was a busy Young man.

~ USA: Bill of Alcoholics Anonymous exchanges letters with Dr Carl Jung.

~ USA: I enroll as a student at the University of California at Berkeley.

~ April 12 th, Russia: Yuri Gagarin, the soviet cosmonaut, became the first man in outer space to orbit the the Earth. Gagarin received medals from around the world for his pioneering tour in space.

~ May, US: Alan Shepard became the first American in space and one of 12 americans to walk on the moon.

1962 AD, U.S. wars: Vietnam War, Cold war: Cuban Missile Crisis, Marines fight Communists in Thailand.

~ USA: The United Farm Workers was founded.

~ USA, September: Cesar Chavez was elected president at first NFWA convention at Fresno, California. Farm Workers.

~ to August of 1963, Honduras: I taught English to adults.

~ USA, March 31st: Chavez began organizing California farm workers.

~ July, US: John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth and the first to orbit the Earth more than once. He was a Marine Corps fighter pilot who joined NASA's astronaut program. In 1968 Glenn became the oldest person to fly in space, when at the age of 77 he flew on the space shuttle Discovery.

1963 AD to 1969 AD: The Democrat, Lyndon B. Johnson was US pres.

~ June 10th, USA: The Equal Pay Act was signed by J. F. Kennedy.

~ November, USA: John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

1964 AD, Chile: Eduardo Frei ran as a Christian Democrat in the presidential election. The CIA used a record amount of money to see him elected. He had seemed a particularly good an brilliant human being up to that time. There is a very great deal to be learned about these happenings. American citizens paid a very great deal to meddle in the politics of this little country.

~ U.S. wars: Vietnam War.

~ 1964 AD, Chile: American Citizens paid their CIA and other organizations to meddle in the democratic elections of Chile.

~ Chile: Eduardo Frei ran as a Christian Democrat in the Chilean election as a popular candidate.

~ USA: the Valdez, Alaska tidal wave at 200 plus feet, I believe was the largest recorded to this date.

~ September 3rd, USA: The U.S. Congress passed the Wilderness Act. It was said that it was passed to "secure for the American people of the present and future generations the benefits of an enduring resource of wilderness" This Wilderness Act passed after 8 years, 18 hearings, and 66 versions before it passed.This effort began in 1956 by distinguished conservationists, but had roods stretching back to the 1930 Minnesota Act and, some believe back through the ages beyond Noah. LBJ.

~ July 2nd, USA: Civil Rights Act signed by L. B. Johnson.

~ September, USA: Graphic Artists Union International founded.

1965 AD, Ireland: O' Neil - Lemass talks.

~ U.S. wars: Vietnam war, Occupation of Dominican Republic.

1965 AD to 1975 AD, USA: During this decade the New Indian movement returned National Parks to the consciousness of American Indians and awakened the national consciousness.

~ March 7th, USA: "Bloody Sunday" Selma Alabama. It was a Civil Rights March when 25 year old activist John Lewis led over 600 "Marchers" across the Edmund Pettus bridge which resulted in the murders of Jimmy Lee Jackson and Amelia Boynton Robinson as they protested against Jim Crow laws and for equal voting rights.

~ September, USA: Filipino Farm Workers, AWOC, launched a five year grape boycott in Delano.

1966 AD, U.S. wars: Vietnam War. U.S. occupation of Dominican Republic.

~ April 10th, USA: Farm Workers end a 300 mile March to Sacramento, California.

~ April 6th, USA: Farm workers, UFWOC, recognized by Schenley during March to Sacramento.

~ August, USA: UFW won first secret ballot election with Di Giorgio, co.

~ AWOC and NFWA merged to form UFWOC under Cesar Chavez.

~ Hockey League Players Association established.

 

1967 AD to 1970 AD: Nigerian Civil War won by Federal Government against Biafra.

~ Six Day War won by Israel against Egypt, Syria, Jorden, and Iraq.

1969 AD to 1974 AD: Republican, Richard Nixon was US Pres.
